On Sunday, September 23, 2018, members of the Peoples Club of Nigeria International (PCNI), Boston Branch, came together for a humanitarian outreach to serve the needy at St. Francis House, located at 39 Boylston Street in downtown Boston. From 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, volunteers worked in the first-floor kitchen, preparing and serving food to community members experiencing homelessness.
True to the club’s tradition of organized, communal service, members gathered at the clubhouse early that morning, with transportation departing promptly at 6:30 AM to ensure the team arrived on time to begin the day’s work.
A Turnout Beyond Expectation
What made the day especially memorable was the dedication of members who traveled long distances to take part. In a message to the club following the event, Chairman Iddi Raphael Ebozue expressed his gratitude and pride in the membership’s commitment:
Dr. Amaechina traveled from Rhode Island, leaving work early to join the team. Mazi Amadi drove in from New Hampshire with his entire family in tow, arriving in the early morning hours. They were joined by dedicated local members, including the People’s Scribe Chief Ojimba, Mazi Uzoma, Chief Ibeabuchi, and the Chairman himself, among others, who gave their time freely that morning.
The Chairman described the turnout as “beyond expectation,” a testament to the strength of PCNI Boston’s culture of service and mutual commitment.
